building is not
an instant action
or act
a fundamental pause
processes of attachment
are organized ascent
it’s first a cobweb
in the soul
a thread of purity
a piling on the outskirts
an elemental growth
rise is formal
angel’s work
consecutive and slow
succeed in an instant
no man did
remaining
is maker’s law

This poem was written in response to the Day 5 prompt at NaPoWriMo to re-work an Emily Dickinson poem. I have used Crumbling is not an instant’s Act as my source poem.
Am liking these reworked Emily poems. First Brenda’s, now your own. Perhaps Emily wasn’t meant to be a great edifice, just a good solid foundation.
