Begin your day

Begin your day
with a breath.
You begin it.
It didn’t begin
when you turned
off your alarm.

Now, breathe deeply.
Invite the day.
Breathe the air.
Give up control.
Let your breath
breathe itself now.

Tonight, when you
climb into bed,
take a breath.
A conscious breath.
Then, give up
control and sleep.
