Why
would
any
one design
shackles, forging links
of strength, to keep one powerless?
Why is it so difficult for
us to touch someone
with softness
and bonds
of
love?

This poem was written in response to the prompt at Poetic Asides to write a big picture poem. I have also used a prompt from Sunday Scribblings, design, and One Single Impression, shackles.
Great FibonacciiccanobiF. I ask these questions myself, all the time. I never get a reasonable answer. We can hope.

Ron, thank you. I saw someone else do a Fibonacci this way, and it seemed appropriate to try it out here. I think we can hope as long as we can ask the questions.
Stan, your comments made me laugh and cry at the time. So true.
Irene, thanks. I think it worked well here.

why, indeed
your fib definitely worked for this one…liked how it built up and then reduced back down to one thing: love.
Bravo!

Carl, I’m so form-challenged… I appreciate folks who do them well all the more.
Shackles vs. bonds, such a potent juxtaposition. Really, a wonderful thought, one I’ll take into meditation tonight. Thank you for the food for thought…. Amy

Paula, thank you for “and then reduced back down to one thing: love.” You said that very well.
Amy, thank you. I’m experimenting more with forms lately. I’m leaning towards the syllabic ones; they seem to work for me. Thank you for catching the shackles and bonds connection. I’ve been waiting for someone to comment on that.
Linda, thank you. Form’s important, but it’s the content that makes it.

Tilly, thank you. I think we need to simplify what appears complicated.
Harshad, I agree. The mind sometimes gets in the way of the heart, which could “know” better.
Kim, thank you. “Brilliant” is such a lovely word.
